The CRM Group aims to increase its contribution to the industrial and societal challenges of greenhouse gas mitigation and resource efficiency, with a focus on energy transition and in particular on topics such as waste recovery, biomass, CCUS (carbon capture, utilisation or storage), hydrogen and energy storage. These subjects are at the heart of the R&D projects carried out by the Energy & Low Impact Industry unit and are linked internally to several other units and activities through its « Energy Shift » technology platform.
In this context CRM Group is recruiting a Research Engineer for its New installations in Engis (Liège – Belgium).
What will your responsibilities be?
You will be in charge of studies and projects within the INNOVATIVE DESIGN & ASSEMBLY SOLUTION/CONSTRUCTION “Building and Civil Engineering” department.
- You will join the team in charge of the design and calculation of industrial and residential buildings. As part of this mission, you will manage projects and develop your expertise in fire behaviour of steel structures.
- You will be in charge of fire engineering calculations as well as the organisation of resistance tests, behaviour and characterisation of building components under fire load (fire testing).
- You will be responsible for defining the studies and work to be carried out by the technicians (fire resistance tests) and for monitoring the progress of this work.
- You will coordinate the smooth running of the studies with our partners, clients and suppliers. You will summarise the results in a clear manner and present them to the clients.
- You will contribute to the development of new ideas and projects, both with our partners and with our clients.
- You will ensure that safety rules are applied and enforced during the fire test process.
Who are you?
- You have a master degree preferably in structural/civil/building engineering and you have a strong willingness to specialize your activities in fire engineering and fire testing;
- Ideally, you have experience with the understanding and estimate of structural resistance under fire conditions;
- You are proactive and have the necessary listening and communication skills to work in a team and manage projects.
- You are fluent in French or in English. Being fluent in both French and English is a plus.
