CRM Group pioneered and popularised the use of Quenched and Self-Tempered (QST) processes, notably under the brand name Tempcore® for the production of rebars (reinforcing bars).

In the midst of a Philippine government inquiry on technical issues regarding the safety of using QST rebars in earthquake countries of seismic zone IV, the Philippine Steel Rolling Mills Association requested a delegation of experts form the CRM Group to travel to the Philippines to give several lectures in on “The Production and Use of QST Rebars” and to visit five steel plants producing QST rebars, including three Tempcore® plants originally engineered by CRM Group in the 1990’s.  This mission took place between the 5th and the 10th of November 2018.

On the 16th of November, an official delegation led by the Undersecretary Ruth B. Castelo (Consumer Protection Group – Department of Trade and Industry) visited back the facilities of CRM group in Liège.  Further collaboration steps are currently envisioned.
